My Most Interesting Copy Projects of the Last 5 Years

Companies and (a few agencies) that work in the B2B automotive space have just kind of found me over the years through Google searches for automotive copywriter (which is awesome!). I’ve been lucky to have had some interesting and fun projects thrown my way that have helped with messaging, sales, and even hiring (more on that in a minute!).

Here’s a few that I’m enjoyed the most…

** Video Explainer Scripts - A Nissan dealership in Texas needed some new model year explainer scripts to feature on the individual web pages. I love cars and researching what makes the new model year more interesting than the last. I did 8 different models and had a blast creating a fresh angle for each one that speaks to its perfect driver.

** Indeed Jobs Ads - A dealership in Ontario was having trouble writing job ads that actually got responses so they reached out to me asking if I could do a few for support positions. I had already done web copy for them and LOVED the working relationship we had built so I said ‘Sure! I’ll help!’ My work got them more qualified applicants in less time leveraging their unique brand voice and really selling the unique opportunity their store offered.

** Email Series - This may sound pretty run-of-the-mill but this online parts platform was ready to launch a revamped website and wanted to start to scale rapidly for more users. My email campaign to encourage signing up for an online demo got an average 29% open rate and helped them book more demos than they had before with just social media ads. Effective subject lines and tight but benefit focused copy made the difference.

** Special Reports - Again, not an unusual project but this client who I have helped for over 2 years and counting has such a fun and disruptive brand voice and business model that it was a blast creating special reports for them to leverage for both thought leadership and booking demos. The graphics team made them both present like a comic book with the CEO and the company as the ‘heroes’ shaking up a tired vertical within the automotive space. It helps that the CEO is cool as hell and great to work with.

I love writing and I love helping businesses stand out in a crowd. Getting to work on unique projects like these are just icing on the cake.
